Fraunhofer DDMC 2020 goes virtual – 23 June 2020

13 May 2020

It has become clear in recent weeks that we will not be able to hold a live DDMC this year. This is why we are moving the Fraunhofer Direct Digital Manufacturing Conference DDMC 2020 into the virtual world, combining pre-recorded video presentations with an exciting innovative and interactive digital conference format, hosted on 23 June 2020.

Meet us online on June 23, 2020!
We are currently finalizing our agenda and the details of our new format to bring you the most inspiring, lively, interactive and educational Fraunhofer DDMC Conference that the current circumstances allow… You can look forward to live presentations of the keynotes and award recipients, as well as short pitches for the highest ranked papers, live debates and award decoration ceremonies for best paper, best poster and best presentation!

Presentations
To limit the live event online to one day and to still give you the chance to see as many presentations as possible, all contributions will be made available to you online as video presentations 10 days prior to the conference. Unlike the real Fraunhofer DDMC, where you would have to choose between one of three parallel sessions, this gives you the opportunity of viewing all presentations in your own time (within a given time frame of several weeks)!

All conference papers will also be made available to all registered participants by mid-June as an interactive conference program. As with prior live DDMCs, the full conference proceedings will be published right after the conference. In addition, the 10 papers ranked highest in our double-blind paper review process have already been published in a special issue of the Springer Nature journal "Progress in Additive Manufacturing". We will provide details on how to access these papers to you shortly.

Conference Fees
The conference fees have been reduced to EUR 495 for regular attendants and to EUR 425 for speakers. Our conference office will contact you with the details of the reimbursement process.

We are also accepting new participants to join us in this novel conference experience.

Although we sincerely regret not having the opportunity to meet all of you in person, we are looking forward to welcoming you as a valuable part of our Fraunhofer DDMC additive manufacturing community in the virtual realm!
